Muchos de nosotros ya recibimos inocuas recomendaciones de libros, una ruta m\u00e1s eficiente hacia un destino o incluso una estrategia ganadora para jugar al Go. Sin embargo, \u00bfqu\u00e9 ocurre con las decisiones mejoradas algor\u00edtmicamente que determinan la admisi\u00f3n a la universidad, la aprobaci\u00f3n de un pr\u00e9stamo o las perspectivas laborales? \u00bfSon igualmente inofensivas?<\/p><p>Aunque existe la idea de que en gran medida las m\u00e1quinas son \u00e1rbitros neutrales, entidades que siempre toman la decisi\u00f3n correcta o que ven patrones que nuestras mentes humanas no pueden o no quieren ver, \u00bfson realmente neutrales? \u00bfO son los algoritmos una forma de <strong>amplificar y extender los prejuicios<\/strong> y la discriminaci\u00f3n que prevalece en la sociedad? Los grandes avances en el aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico han animando a las empresas e instituciones a confiar en el Big Data y en la toma de decisiones algor\u00edtmicas con la presunci\u00f3n de que estas decisiones son eficientes e imparciales. Pero esta tendencia tambi\u00e9n ha dado lugar a demandas de una mayor <strong>rendici\u00f3n de cuentas<\/strong> en el dise\u00f1o e implementaci\u00f3n de los algoritmos, y la preocupaci\u00f3n por la aparici\u00f3n de la discriminaci\u00f3n algor\u00edtmica.<\/p><p>La verdad es que los algoritmos son <strong>construcciones sociales<\/strong> tanto como son c\u00e1lculos matem\u00e1ticos. Como cualquier otra tecnolog\u00eda, capturan y reproducen las din\u00e1micas sociales, pero estas din\u00e1micas a menudo derivan en opacos debates t\u00e9cnicos. Sin embargo, una <strong>auditor\u00eda algor\u00edtmica<\/strong> y un <strong>enfoque multidisciplinar<\/strong> son formas nuevas e innovadoras de enmarcar de forma seria y rigurosa esta cuesti\u00f3n, as\u00ed como de comprender qu\u00e9 son los algoritmos y el papel que desempe\u00f1an en nuestra elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Con el auge del Big Data, ha proliferado el uso de algoritmos con el fin de agilizar, mejorar y hacer m\u00e1s eficientes los procesos de toma de decisiones. Dado que estos algoritmos son adaptativos y han sido creados para aprender de los humanos, tambi\u00e9n aprenden los habituales prejuicios humanos relacionados con la raza, el g\u00e9nero, la edad o la nacionalidad, entre otros. Con el objetivo de arrojar un poco de luz sobre esta nueva problem\u00e1tica, hemos creado este observatorio mundial que empieza examinando m\u00e1s de 90 casos de discriminaci\u00f3n algor\u00edtmica y sus impactos en diferentes \u00e1mbitos sociales.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3a5bd849 elementor-widget Pero lo que hace un algoritmo depende en buena medida de lo buenos que sean esos datos. En este proyecto nos hemos centrado en cuando los datos se recoletan, se pre-procesan y se almacenan, para llegar a conocer los problemas que entra\u00f1an los datos antes que intervenga el algoritmo. <b>Y hemos visto como el bad data juega un papel importante en todo tipo de procesos y acciones<\/b>que dependen de esta automatizaci\u00f3n que interviene en la toma de decisiones y eso tiene un
